Dr. Reema Bali was a panelist of an insightful Panel Discussion on “Unpacking Gender
Stereotypes in India”, which was part of the RICS Dialogue for Diversity Event.
Gender stereotypes continue to shape our families, workplaces, media, and policies, even in
2025. This conversation is about more than critique; it’s about exploring pathways to change.
An insightful panel discussion into the reasons why gender stereotypes persist in India’s
social fabric, the social, economic and personal costs of these stereotypes and finally delve
into the positive shifts that are being seen at workplaces.
Dr. Bali emphasised the need for acknowledging the gender stereotypes and creating awareness about it.
“Let us not only look at stereotypes faced by women, men too face stereotypes – like expected to be the bread earners. Once we acknowledge the stereotypes around gender, it helps us in creating the relevant awareness and there by making a positive shift in the social fabric.”
