UC Berkeley grad Bhavye Khetan shook up the startup world by creating a fake tech founder, armed with Ivy League credentials, trending buzzwords like “AI,” and zero product.
Out of 34 VCs contacted, 27 responded and 4 requested a call without seeing a pitch deck or prototype. His goal? To spotlight the superficial signals driving early-stage VC interest.
The move has sparked debate across founder and investor circles alike: Is this a clever critique of VC gatekeeping or just a viral stunt?
